CHILDREN have helped to create a 15ft by 10ft stained glass window in their school.

The youngsters from John Emmerson Batty Primary School, Redcar, have worked with their resident artist, Barbara Agar to create a seascape on glass.

Headteacher Pat Smith said: "It really is a wonderful piece of work. We're absolutely delighted.

"It's one of many pieces throughout the school, including seahorses, chandeliers and wall hangings that have been completed during Barbara's stay with us and I'm sure there's going to be a lot more to be admired."

Mrs Agar, whose 18-month position with the school is being funded by the Tees Valley Creative Partnerships, has organised a series of sessions over four months with more than 70 children.
