FEARS are growing for a pensioner who hasn't been seen for eight weeks.
Police have handed out leaflets to more than 100 residents and businesses in Ryedale in the hope of tracing the 62-year-old who suffers from depression.
Christopher John Hanby was last seen in Norton, close to his Parliament Street home, on May 23. He had some money with him and his bank accounts have not been touched.
Ryedale's community support officer Bob Ogier said: "We have been dropping the leaflets off in the catchment area near to his home and spreading out from there, really. We are also going to local taxi firms, train and bus stations.
"If people can just check yards and undergrowth near their homes for any signs, it will help. We have not had a single sighting."
Mr Hanby is 5ft 5in, thin, with short, dark brown hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information is asked to call the Ryedale witness line on (01723) 509662
