Juniors and seniors competed at the Newton Aycliffe road races. In hot temperatures Nathan Nicholson produced another superb performance finishing third male in 13.7 overall in 13.30, as did Sarah Douthwaite for fourth female 13 in 22nd position in 16.18.

Harry Welsh finished 18.06 and 36th, Demi Douthwaite 58th for 19.24, Amy Coatsworth and William Coatsworth settled for 65th in 20.10 and 66th in 20.29. Rebecca Johnson was just behind in 69th in 21.07 and four places later her sister Alice finished in 21.44.

Another creditable run from Emily Coatsworth saw her home in 25.43 for 89th from 96 finishers.

Neil Douthwaite finished the 10km event in 41.29 for 42nd. John Johnston finished strong in 44.08 in 73rd as did Darren Million for 116th in 47.24. A good run from Alan Morton got him home in 52.34 for 171st whereas James Sowerby suffered for 56.04 in 213th. The females of the club did well with Lesley Collinson finishing in 241st in 63.03 and Dawn Ord 242nd in 63.41.

Alan Dickinson V/O60 completed the race in 255th in 66.34 and Alan Thompson V/O65 just behind in 259th in 69.25.

Making her debut race at this distance Sarah Forrester made a good start for 260th in 70.24 with Alison and Steven Coatsworth smiling home in 261st and 262nd, both happy to share 70.25 from a good field of 267 finishers at this well organised event.

In Richmondshire four members tried to zip around the Croft racing circuit for the Pitstop 10km.

Finishing the three-lap course first was Darren Fairclouth in 41.23 for 23rd; Glynn Frith was delighted with 49.05 for 48th and was Sarah Forrester as she gained a new personal best of 69.56 finishing 66th from 66 with James Sowerby being one of seven to drop out through an achilles tendon injury.
