A MOTHER is considering taking legal action against a bus company after she and her two-year-old daughter were pinned against railings by a bus.

Hayley Walker, 19, and daughter, Terri-Lee, from Hartlepool feared for their lives when the bus reversed, pushing the pair against railings outside the town's Central Library, in York Road.

The pair were taken to a nearby doctors' surgery by eyewitness Dawn Wass, 30, before they were taken to hospital by ambulance.

Terri-Lee has now returned to her home in Lamberd Road following a two day stay at the University Hospital of Hartlepool where she was treated for an arm injury.

She will have to wear a sling for six to eight weeks.

Ms Walker received bruising to her back in the accident last Wednesday.

She said her daughter had not been feeling well since the incident and her slight stammer appeared to be getting worse.

Ms Walker is in contact with a solicitor and is considering taking action against Stagecoach.

The driver of the bus has not been identified.

Cleveland Police and Stagecoach are both investigating the incident.
