COUNCILLORS in Hartlepool have agreed to investigate long-standing flooding problems in the town.
The decision follows a meeting of Hartlepool Borough Council's environmental stewardship and regeneration scrutiny forum.
Councillors will be paying a visit to the sites tomorrow and residents are invited to meet them to talk about their specific problems.
They will be at the railway bridge, in Seaton Lane, Seaton Carew, at about 1.10pm and at Southend at about 1.40pm.
The group will then go on to Valley Drive at 2.15pm, Stranton Cemetery at 3pm and Brus Corner at 3.45pm.
Following a presentation to the forum by Ian Parker, the council's head of technical services, it was also agreed to take a close look at gullies across the town, where flooding often occurs after heavy rainfall.
Three public meetings are planned for next month to discuss the issue further. They will be held in the north, south and centre of town.
