POLICE are appealing for help to stop the misuse of air weapons in Spennymoor.
A series of incidents involving airguns were reported to police last week.
One woman was shot in the shoulder while walking along Front Street, in Tudhoe, at 10pm on Thursday.
At about the same time, a bus travelling through Tudhoe was shot at and a window was shattered.
The next night two cars parked near The Victory Club, in York Villas, Tudhoe Colliery, were also damaged.
Inspector Kevin Tuck, of Newton Aycliffe police, said: "If anyone has information about who is responsible for any of these incidents I'd urge them to get in touch.
"They can leave the information anonymously if they are worried about the consequences but we need to stop this happening again.
"I would also ask parents of young people who have access to an airgun to make sure they are not taken out for inappropriate use."
Anyone with information about any of the incidents can call Newton Aycliffe police on (01325) 314401, or Spennymoor police on (01388) 814411.
