A health research department will be opened at the University of Teesside this week.
The Department for Emergency Medicine will be based at the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, and is a partnership with the university's School of Health and Social Care.
It will be opened on Wednesday by university Vice-Chancellor Professor Graham Henderson, as part of the Teesside Trauma Conference: Head and Spinal Injury, which will be attended by health professionals from across the region.
