CORONATION Street star John Savident proved a crowd puller when he opened a new butcher's shop in the region.
The actor, who plays butcher Fred Elliott in the soap, was at Castlegate Shopping Centre in Stockton, on Saturday for the opening of the new-look Kitson's.
The family-run firm was one of the founder members of Spencer Market Hall but after nearly 30 years of trading in the indoor market is has moved to new premises.
The new shop is three times the size of the stall and is in Stephenson Way mall.
Owner Tony Kitson said: "We were delighted to have such a big-name television star to open our new premises."
