CAR maker Nissan attracted about 5,000 visitors to its annual family day yesterday.
The Wearside plant's sports centre and surrounding field hosted fairground attractions including a runaway train rollercoaster, circus clowns, giant inflatables, face painting, kite display and charity stalls.
Maureen Nair, from Nissan's community relations, said: "We hold this family day every year, which brings our workforce and their families together.
"It's an absolute pleasure to see so many happy faces enjoying the diversity of entertainment on offer.''
Appearing for the first time at the family day were the Discovery Workshops, which offered a fun approach to science and discovery.
