A TEENAGER who terrorised shop staff and customers has been made the subject of an anti-social behaviour order (ASBO).

Dwayne Ashley Grimes, 16, rode his bike through shops, blocked keyholes and was abusive to staff and customers.

He also threw eggs and stones at residents' windows, hurled abuse at his neighbours, stole property and damaged a lamp-post.

Grimes, from Langdale Place, Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, did not oppose the ASBO application at Sedgefield Magistrates' Court yesterday.

His solicitor Andy Clinton said: "He accepts, almost in total, everything. There are minor points he doesn't accept, but nothing sufficient enough to say these prohibitions should not be made against him."

Magistrates set the ASBO for two years. If Grimes breaches any of the prohibitions he could be liable to a prison sentence of up to five years, a fine, or both.

The bench said they were making the order "to protect people from further anti-social behaviour".
