A SUMMER playscheme got off to a swinging start yesterday with a game of rounders.
Children aged five to 13 joined in the fun as part of a packed programme of activities on the Red Hall estate in Darlington.
On Friday, youngsters from the estate will visit Beamish Museum near Stanley.
Later in the holidays they will have a chance to learn circus skills and basketball.
Play development co-ordinator Sarah Small said: "The kids were full of beans this morning during the rounders game and seem to be really enjoying the activities on offer."
The scheme has been organised by the Red Hall Partnership and is paid for by the Children's Fund.
