A CHILDMINDER is preparing to lose her hair to help raise funds for a young cerebral palsy sufferer.
Dawn Johnson, 40, of Katherine Street, Darlington, is to endure a sponsored head shave to help send two-year-old Lewis Addy to Slovakia for intensive treatment.
Mrs Johnson, a grandmother and mother-of-four, met Lewis and his mother, Gill Addy, through her childminding work.
A target of at least £250 has been set and Mrs Johnson is still seeking sponsorship.
Mrs Addy is a psychiatric nurse in Selby, North Yorkshire, but her parents, Eileen and Frank Stallard, live in Falcon Road, Darlington.
The head shave will take place next Tuesday at the Changes salon, in High Row.
To sponsor the event call (01757) 708968.
