A dinner lady who has served up more than a million meals to hungry youngsters has hung up her apron.
Mary Rogan has retired after 26 years of service to St Mary's RC Primary school, Blackhill, Consett.
Staff and pupils presented her with gifts including gardening furniture.
A school spokewoman said: "We have estimated that during her time she has served 1,318,200 dinners - and all with a smile. We wish her well in her retirement."
