ANOTHER hairdressing business opened in Darlington last month, confirming the town's position as the hairdressing capital of the UK.
Business partners Fiona Hart and Lisa Ryan, who have been working together for 17 years, have opened Ryanhart, in Duke Street and are undaunted by the tough competition in the town.
Ms Hart said: "We have both been hairdressers in the town since we were 15, so we have a strong client base anyway.
"I think what sets us apart is we like to add the personal touch.
"We also have nice decor, which is important to clients, and we try not to pack too many customers in.
"I think some places you go to can be a bit like a conveyor belt - but we want customers to be happy with their hair and with the service, and not feel like we are in a rush."
