DARLINGTON fans may be watching their team in different surroundings when the new Division Three campaign gets under way, but it seems there will be few fresh faces when the team trots out at the Reynolds Arena.

Quakers kick off the season with a difficult assignment at Hull City tomorrow before taking on Kidderminster Harriers a week later in the first game played at their new ground on Neasham Road.

Manager Mick Tait has endured a frustrating summer, failing to secure last season's loan stars Tom Newey and Jim Corbett and losing defender Stuart Whitehead, while a number of targets slipped through his fingers.

The only new arrivals so far have been young keeper Michael Price and striker Glen Robson, but at least experienced stopper Andy Collett, who has been troubled by a shoulder injury, is likely to play at the KC Stadium.

The Tigers, managed by former England under-21 boss Peter Taylor, are among the favourites for promotion, so Tait will need all the playing resources he can muster.

He was still hopeful that one or two new players could be recruited earlier this week, with Erdem Artun and Fabian Bossy on trial with the club.
