Blazing hot weather meant the Lower Tees around Yarm and Bowesfield was still and clear for the weekend's biggest event the third round of the Drennan Super League Northern Division.

Despite the conditions, Yarm AA's Neil Waters found the fish in a feeding mood and amazingly went on to break the Bowesfield stretch match record bagging 34.10.0 during this 88 pegger.

Fishing at the top of the shallows below Bassleton Wood Bend, Neil opted to fish midriver on the groundbait feeder and worm and picked up 20 skimmer bream including a few better fish over the 3.0.0 mark then added a few perch to round off a memorable day.

The individual stakes were all decided in this 'breamy' area and Andy Dargue of Shimano Quaker A, 4 pegs downstream, weighed in 24.8.0. Red maggot and caster hookbaits accounted for 12 bream, highlight of which proved a nice Tees specimen of 5.5.0 from Derek Fox of Shotton AC Match Group 19.15.0.

Diawa Cleveland came out top team on the day scoring 70 points that's 8 more than Newman Scott's but at the halfway stage the Scotts overall hold a clear 9 point advantage over Shimano Quaker A.

Below Croft Road Bridge on peg 1, John swapped between bomb and float, casting over to the island willows and varied caster corn and meat hookbaits.
