A NEW childcare co-ordinator has been chosen by health chiefs in County Durham and Darlington.
Pauline Woods has been appointed by Durham and Chester-le-Street, Darlington, Durham Dales, Easington and Sedgefield Primary Care Trusts to implement and support the National Childcare Strategy.
Her role will be to act as an advisor and support for working parents or carers in the NHS in County Durham and Darlington.
She will assist parents, especially lone parents, in returning to the workplace by making the most of benefits made available to them through tax systems.
Mrs Woods will also be involved in workshops with information for employers and parents on the Working Families Tax Credit, Childcare Tax Credit and Child Care Vouchers.
She said: "The PCTs in County Durham and Darlington are very much committed to the provision of childcare for their workforce."
