MARTIAL arts training in Richmond will not be so painful thanks to a donation from the town's annual Meet.
The donation comes following the Whit weekend carnival procession and celebrations, which raised money for local causes.
Among those to benefit was Richmond's Progressive Martial Arts Club, which was presented with £1,000 worth of sports mats to cushion falls.
The new equipment means the club can open a junior section, an option which was not available in the past because of the risk of injury.
Sessions for eight to 14-year-olds will be held at Richmond Town Hall on Wednesdays, and Catterick Garrison on Mondays, both at 6.30pm. Details are available by telephoning (07736) 732862.
