FACTORY staff have cycled across Britain to raise money for a children's cancer charity.
The riders from Hathaway Roofing, in Tindale Crescent, Bishop Auckland, completed the coast-to- coast trip from Whitehaven to Tynemouth in three days.
John Richardson, of West Auckland, drove the support vehicle for cyclists David Brannan and his son Colin, Ian Henderson, Robin McLeod and Paul Hughes.
They raised £1,710 for the Children's Cancer Research Fund at Newcastle's Royal Victoria Hospital. Mr Richardson's £464 contribution included donations from West Auckland Working Men's Club and the Eden Arms pub.
He said: "We had great support from friends at work and at home."
Hathaway Roofing paid for the van, which was hired from Burnt Tree Hire, at Blaydon.
The team is planning another ride next year, probably from Tyneside to Ednburgh.
