The Readers Durham County League Under-18s: Evenwood celebrated winning the championship when they defeated Willington in a playoff.

The two sides had won their respective division and when they came up against each other Evenwood celebrated with a seven wicket victory after reducing Willington to 85 for six.

Bowey top scored with 23 as Willington's innings ended after 20 overs with Kurt Bailey taking three for 25 in five overs and James Alderson two for 28 in the Evenwood attack.

Chris Peareth then lead Evenwood to a seven wickets win in 16.3 overs. He hit one six and six boundaries ending unbeaten on 46 while Mark Little hit two successive sixes out of a total of 13 and Ryan Nicholson added a valuable 11 runs at a crucial stage. Chris Moore top performed for Willington claiming two of the three wickets.

The Readers Durham County League Under 15s

Sedgefield enjoyed a nine wicket victory at home to Tudhoe who they restricted to 66 for the loss of five wickets. Peter Brown then carried his bat for 32, finding the boundary line on five occasions and Jonathan Thompson hit one six in 22 as Sedgefield responded with 68 for one.

Alsen had six bowls in his score of 45 leading Bishop Auckland to a match winning 115 for six at home to Mainsforth. Beattie captured three wickets for 16 runs in 3.3 overs for Mainsforth who replying, totalled 71 for nine as Harnett picked up three wickets for 18 runs in four overs.

Shildon were 34 without loss at Evenwood when their game had to be abandoned because of the weather and Langley Park conceded their match at Washington when they were one run for three wickets before the weather intervened. Matthew Thompson claimed two wickets without conceding a run in one over for Washington, who batting first romped to 127 for the loss of six wickets. Mark Lee had five boundaries and two sixes in 40 and for Langley park, Whitney took two for 33 in five overs.

Little play was possible at Esh Winning where Willington were 18 for two before the weather intervened but the fixture between Ushaw Moor and Brandon was completed with victory going to the visitors.

When they made first use of the wicket, Ushaw Moor ended with 50 for six on the board as Wallace captured two of the wickets for 20 runs in five overs. Wallace then starred with the bat leading Brandon to a six wickets win.

He ended undefeated on 26 and no fewer than 24 of his runs came in boundaries. Peter Guy had a good night with the ball for Ushaw Moor taking three of the four wickets to fall for just 15 runs in just five overs.

Fosters Northumberland League Under-18s

Bates Cottages had eight wickets in hand when they overtook the Morpeth total of 85 for six. Paul Baston took two for 18 in five overs and Gary Dennis also delivered five overs claiming two for 19. Replying, Bates Cottages had man of the match Dennis in form with the bat and he stroked five boundaries making an unbeaten 46 while Calving Grey added 24 with three fours. In the other game to be played South Northumberland totalled only 74 for six but then dismissed Tynemouth with just 26 runs on the board.

Federation Special Durham Senior League Under-15s

After restricting Marsden to 42 for the loss of eight wickets, Eppleton won without conceding a wicket when the sides met at Church Road. Anthony Anderson was in good form capturing five wickets for ten runs. Craig Hughes carried his bat for 25 and Scott Bothwick added 18 not out in the Eppleton reply.

Runs were more plentiful at South Hetton who realised 125 for four before restricting Boldon to 60 for six.

Chris Wilkin had one six and three boundaries in 33 Paul Hopkins added 31 and Sam Wood 20 not out for South Hetton. When they replied, Boldon found the home attack difficult to cope with as Hopkins took two for six in five overs and Luke Pearcy two for 14 from the four overs he delivered.

Gateshead Fell managed only 45 all out visiting Hetton Lyons for whom Michael Walker picked up three for six and S Barry three for 12, the two bowlers each delivering five overs.

There performances with the ball though were vetted by Gateshead Fell's Alex Strange who in five overs returned the outstanding figures of four wickets for eight runs. Michael Walker top scored with 26 when the Lyons who batted first ended on 68 for nine.

Whitburn won their derby with Sunderland with eight wickets remaining. Faced with a target of 77 they were indebted to Craig Henderson who ended undefeated on 28 with three boundaries. Batting first, Sunderland managed only 76 for nine as Greg Little claimed two for 11 in three overs and Josh Gillies two for 19 from the three overs he bowled.

There was another derby at Sunderland Road where Boldon entertained South Shields and the visitors came out on top by eight wickets. Richard Martin scored half of 66 for four contributing 34 and in the South Shields reply, none did better than Baston with 36 out of a total of 68 for two.

Fosters Tyneside League Under-15s

Mark Fort and Chris Tilley were both in good form for Sacriston when they entertained Blaydon and won by 39 runs.

Fort had five boundaries making a top scoring 45 and Tilley added 37 to the Sacriston total of 110 for two before Blaydon were restricted to 71. Fort also starred with the ball taking two wickets without conceding a run in two overs and Simon Wilson also bowled well his four overs producing figures of two for six.

Annfield Plain were on a healthy 82 without loss when rain intervened in their game with Shotley Bridge. Gavin Crooks stroked six fours in an unbeaten 29 and Scott Harrison made a similar undefeated total with one six and five fours.

Lanchester hosted Swalwell and won by six wickets when the visitors batted first they ended with 105 for five on the board and their top scorer was Dowling. Glen Harrison captured three of the five wickets to fall for nine runs in five overs before Gavin Mansfield hit two fours carrying his bat for 30 and Aaron Shale made the game's top score of 34 including a couple of fours.

Federation Special Durham Senior League U13s

Silksworth clinched the championship with a 50 runs victory at home to Seaham Park. Adam Fairley recorded four boundaries in an unbeaten 46 and Liam Malburn also found the boundary line on four occasions contributing 30. Gary McEvoy had two sixes and three fours adding 25 to the Silksworth of 138 for three. In reply Seaham Park were restricted to 78 for four.

Shaun Hauxwell made a massive 150 not out and Noble scored 72 as Houghton romped to 255 for one before restricting Murton to 57 all out.

In a rearranged game Seaham Park defeated Easington by five wickets with Chris Varley scoring 30 out of the Seaham Park total of 44 for five. Forbes claimed three for 15 for Easington, who batting first, were all out for 43 as Anthony Moorhead took for eight and Phillip Murtagh two for four.

Durham have played two games at U14 level in the last week and had mixed fortunes.

In their first fixture they lost by seven wickets to Yorkshire despite posting the healthy total of 244 for five which included 126 by Andrew Smith who hit boundaries. Alan Tebbett had five fours in 40 and Marcus Peart also found the boundary line five times contributing 32 not out. In reply, Yorkshire won losing just three wickets with Lee Foster, and James Stock both taking one wicket in the Durham attack.

In their next game, Durham defeated Lancashire U14s by six wickets. Michael Walker had three for 11 and John Hutton three for 27 the pair both bowling nine overs and Lee Foster took three for 23 from seven overs when Lancashire were dismissed for 125. Andrew Smith against struck form for the Durham youngsters carrying his bat for 47 with four boundaries and Marcus Peart added 24 with four fours before being run out.

Just Sport U15s Interleague Competition

The Foster's Northumberland and Tyneside Senior League had 2.4 overs and five wickets to spare defeating the Durham Coast League.

Batting first, the Coast League were all out in 34.4 of the 35 overs with 135 on the board. David Miller led the way hitting 13 boundaries in 84 and for the N and T League, Adam Tinnion took three for 27 in seven overs, Matty Dixon two for 11 from the 6.4 overs he delivered and Stuart Tiffen two for 25 in three overs. Replying the N and T scored 137 for five of which Andrew Smith scored 40 with six boundaries and Sacriston's Craig Burke an unbeaten 40 with one six and five fours.

NYACC had 47 runs to spare defeating the Federation Special Durham Senior League. Weeks top scored with 40 for the visitors and for the DSL Andrew Raine claimed claimed two for five runs, Paul Leonard two for 26 and Anthony Anderson two for 33.

The Durham Senior League were then all out for 93, which included 25 by Matthew Cane. Hunter with three for 13, top performed for NYACC.

Coast League Under-15s

Silksworth produced one of their best performances of the season when they defeated Hylton by 94 runs. Batting first, the visitors enjoyed the luxury of being able to declare 122 for three on the board. the runs flowed from Craig Nield who hit one six and four boundaries in an unbeaten 51 and from Scott Davison whose 33 included a six and five boundaries. Responding, Hylton were all out for just 28 as Craig Gardiner claimed five wickets for just seven runs in four overs and Liam Mallaburn took four wickets for four runs in 2.2 overs.

Easington were 53 for seven at Boldon CA when their game had to be called off because of rain. Sam Wraith picked up two wickets for 12 runs in three overs, Chris Frater had an analysis of two for ten from the four overs he sent down and Carl Purves also delivered four overs returning two for 12.

The weather was also the winner at Bill Quay where Peterlee were on a healthy 104 for one. Shakespeare had a couple of fours out of an unbeaten 312 and Malt also carried his bat for 25 with three boundaries.

Seaham Park defeated rivals Murton by eight wickets. Faced with a target of only 60, they won comfortably as Adam Wallace carried his bat for 16 and Anthony Anderson made 14 not out.

In their innings, Gary Logan top scored with 20 when Murton were all out for 29. Scott Aldale had a good night with the ball at the Seaham park claiming three wickets for 18 runs and was well assisted by Richard Hall with two for eight.

City of Durham Just Sport U15 Cup Final

Willington won the cup when the final against Esh Winning was staged at Durham City. When they made first use of the wicket, Esh Winning were all for 60 as Lee Tinkler took three for 19, Harker three for 21 and Stephenson two for 12. In reply, Willington has no difficulty reaching the low target and conceded just three wickets as Harker carried his bat for 29 and Andrew Wilson also scored 29 before being dismissed.

Gavin Pattison Cup

Ryhope had eight wickets in hand defeating South Hetton who they restricted to 109 for seven when they batted first. Curl had three boundaries i n21 and Wilkin carried his bat also for 21, which included two boundaries. John Brett was the most productive bowler in the Ryhope attack capturing three wickets for eight runs in four overs.

When they replied, there were runs from three batsmen who led Ryhope to victory. Ben McCluskey made the game's top score of 38 not out, with three boundaries, Christian Somerside had five fours in 26 and David Miller two boundaries contributing 24.

Bob Pendlebury Cup

Esh Winning reached the final of the Bob Pendlebury Cup defeating Bishop Auckland by 79 runs. Batting first Esh posted the formidable total of 172 for five as the runs flowed from Stuart Hall and Carl Turner. Hall had one six and four boundaries, carrying his bat for 63 and Turner made similar score recording two sixes and eight boundaries before being dismissed. Neverson was the peak of the Bishop Auckland attack with two wickets for 35 runs in five overs.

When they responded, Bishop Auckland could only manage 93 for six which included 23 not out by Harnett while Turner also struck form with the ball for Esh capturing four wickets four wickets for only 14 runs.
