CONFERENCE ambassadors have chalked up another success for the region by attracting an important convention.
Newcastle-Gateshead Convention Bureau, set up to engage the help of the region's top academics and professionals to boost the region's business tourism industry, has helped organise the British Society of Gerontology's conference.
Up to 250 delegates from 20 European countries will spend four days in Newcastle-Gateshead, from September 3 to 6.
The bureau worked closely with Professors Jan Reed and David Stanley, of Northumbria University, to attract the conference for the first time.
Anyone who would like to become involved with the ambassador scheme is asked to contact Jessica Roberts, on 0191-243 8819.
