A Darlington nurse has graduated from RAF Cranwell, in Lincolnshire in a ceremony attended by the Duke of York.

Flight Lieutenant Willcocks, 31, passed a specialist entrant and re-entrant course, which included physical and management training as well as air experience.

He did his nursing training at Darlington Memorial Hospital before working as a charge nurse in London.

He has now been posted to the Military District Hospital Unit, in Peterborough, as a nursing officer.
