A STEWARD admitted stealing money from a social club, when he appeared in court yesterday.
Graeme Ruddick, 44, of Thompson Terrace, Sunderland, admitted the offence when he was working as a steward at Sea View Social Club, in Ryhope, near Sunderland.
He pleaded guilty at Newcastle Crown Court to eight charges of theft, between January and March this year, with a total value of £2140.
He also asked for several other offences to be taken in to consideration. He denied two further charges of theft from the club.
Judge Richard Lowden adjourned sentencing until September 12 for the preparation of reports and granted Ruddick bail.
