BUDDING young artists are getting the call of the wild at a summer holiday workshop.
About 60 youngsters are learning about the area's creatures great and small at sessions organised by the Durham Wildlife Trust and the Bearpark Artists' Co-operative.
They will use the inspiration of what they find to produce artwork on a wildlife theme.
A trust spokesman said that the children would explore local and exotic wildlife during the week.
"Guided by six professional artists they will have the opportunity to create their own pieces of art, a painting, sculpture or even some film animation, based on what they have seen or learnt throughout the week.''
This week they went stream dipping and mini-beast hunting with trust workers.
The trust is running several summer holiday activities at several of its nature reserves in the county. For further details call the trust on (0191) 584 3112.
