A PHOTOGRAPHER is hoping his first exhibition will be the springboard to a new career.
Alan Evans, 57, from Saltburn, east Cleveland, was made redundant in February from a laundry firm after 41 years' service.
Now the former North York Moors National Park ranger has turned his love of the countryside into a photographic exhibition called Phoenix Rising.
The 32 colour images focus on views of Guisborough, Great Ayton, Stokesley, Staithes, Saltburn and Redcar.
Mr Evans said: "I would like to think it could be the start of a semi-professional career. I have sold three to my accountant, and the exhibition has given me a real buzz."
The exhibition can be seen at the Margrove Heritage Centre, near Guisborough, and will run until September 28.
Mr Evans is selling the framed A3 prints for £50 each.
