athletes of the future got on track at the fourth annual Children's Athletics Camp at Gateshead International Stadium.

The stadium, which has just held the Grand Prix athletics meet, is this week hosting the stars of tomorrow.

The camp, which is for boys and girls of all abilities, will provide three days of exercises and games with the emphasis on fun and enjoyment while also teaching the youngsters how to improve their performances in athletics events.

The coaches and instructors working on the course all have specialist qualifications in teaching athletic skills to children in an enjoyable and expert manner.

To provide even further inspiration for the eight to 13-year-olds, a team of older members of the Harriers will be assisting, several of whom have represented England.

During the three days of structured activity the children will be running, jumping and throwing, using specially designed and approved equipment suitable and safe for younger members.

On the last day of camp, competitions will be held with trophies and prizes awarded.
