PEOPLE can join in a museum's 50th birthday celebrations.
An exhibition of photographs is being put together for display at Preston Hall Museum, near Stockton.
The display marks the opening of Preston Hall as a museum in 1953 and Stockton Borough Council's museums service is looking for people to supply their own photographs from the 1950s.
Rachel Mason, the council's community history officer, said: "We are looking for photographs showing people having fun in the 1950s.
"We will carefully scan the images and return the photographs straight away. We want people to dig through their photo albums for winklepickers and netted skirts or teddy boy suits.
"Anything that portrays family life in the 1950s is welcome, especially pictures of parties and people of all ages having fun, particularly in Preston Park."
Anyone who has a photograph they would like the museum to use, should write their name and address on the back with any comments and send it to Rachel Mason, PO Box 228, Municipal Buildings, Church Road, Stockton, TS18 1XE. The exhibition takes place from August 22 to 25.
