MAYOR of Sedgefield Borough, Councillor George Gray, has organised a charity golf tournament to help raise money for his chosen causes.
The competition will be held on Thursday, September 4, at the Knotty Hill Golf Club in Sedgefield village.
The format is a Stableford competition, which requires four golfers per team, with a maximum handicap allowance of 18.
The entry fee is £175, including an evening meal followed by the presentation of prizes, at Hardwick Hall near Sedgefield.
Coun Gray, who represents the West ward in Newton Aycliffe, is raising money for cancer charities during his year in office.
There are still a few vacancies for the golf tournament and anyone interested in taking part is asked to call (01388) 816166 ext 4512 for further details.
