NEWLY-PROMOTED Browney face league Champions Newton Aycliffe in the opening game of the 2003-04 campaign this Sunday.

Browney finished third in Division Two last year to win promotion - and face the toughest test of the weekend with an opening clash against the champions.

Runners-up Old Shildon, meanwhile, will play Thorns in another mammoth clash, while Horndale - promoted as runners-up from Division Two last year - take on Lakeside, who finished fourth in the top flight.

Elsewhere, Salvins play Green Tree, Loves are at home to Postchaise and Beehive play Binchester Social Club.

In Division Two, Aycliffe rivals Cumby Arms and North Briton go head-to-head at the Cumby, while new boys Voltigeur visit Eldon Arms.

Shildon Athletic are at home to Grand, Belvedere entertain new members Middlestone Moor, Victoria play Hunwick Joiners and Masons Arms are at home to Boot & Shoe.
