A PUB owner's application to build more accommodation has been turned down by planners.
Members of the Ripon area planning committee of Harrogate Borough Council rejected a scheme to build two detached log cabins for guests at the Crab and Lobster, at Asenby, near Thirsk.
Highway chiefs had called for refusal because they said there was inadequate parking.
The application was made by Vimac Leisure Limited.
Planning officer Mike Parkes said the development would not have an adverse impact on the area but because of highway concerns, a fundamental objection to the scheme had been raised, and he recommended councillors refuse the application.
The log cabins would have been built within landscaped grounds of the pub and nearby Crab Manor.
The Crab and Lobster, which has a thatched roof, is next to the Topcliffe road just outside Asenby.
It is partly in the grounds of the former Asenby Lodge, now the Crab Manor Hotel, a Grade II-listed building.
