GERMAN students visiting Darlington have been getting their hands dirty whie improving their language skills.
A group of 14 fifth formers from Bremen are spending two weeks, gaining work experience with local businesses.
Student Kevin Rtzel is working as a technician at Reg Vardy's Renault dealership in Eastmount Road, learning how to service and repair vehicles with the help of technician Tony Linskey.
Kevin said: "I wanted to learn about cars to get an advantage in later life, and to get some basic knowledge for when I own my own car. From the first day I felt at home at Reg Vardy. It has been a great experience."
General manager Neil Ferguson said the dealership was enjoying hosting Kevin, adding: "He is a very cheerful lad and always has a smile on his face. I hope he has learned a lot".
This is the second time students from Bremen have visited Darlington.
This year's group, who are staying at the Arts Centre, are from their school's bi-lingual section where they are taught subjects in English.
