AN initiative has been launched to reduce the risk of death and injury in house fires.
The Richmondshire Community Safety Partnership and North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service have devised a potentially life-saving programme.
The scheme will see smoke detectors placed in the homes of vulnerable people throughout the district.
To request an alarm fitting, contact Nigel Philips on (01748) 823343 or call (01609) 780150 and ask for the fire safety unit.
