SHOPPERS were shown the importance of wearing a seatbelt when a taxi that had been involved in a crash went on show this week at the Asda store, in Hartlepool.
Two people in the taxi were seriously injured and the driver of the other car died. Neither of the injured back seat passengers were wearing a seatbelt. The taxi was bought by Cleveland Police for use in its safety campaigns.
The taxi will be at the town's Tesco store in Burn Road today as part of an awareness-raising initiative involving Hartlepool Borough Council's road safety unit, Cleveland Police, Asda, Tesco and Hartlepool FM.
