Kirby Sigston were crowned champions on the last day of the season when they defeated Thimbleby by almost 200 runs.

Batting first the champions realised 256 for six as the runs flowed from Raynor with 51, Thompson 35 and man of the match Clarkson who contributed 101 before being bowled

Replying Thimbleby were all out for just 66 as Neil Kendrew captured six wickets for just 21 runs and Clarkson added to his performance with the bat by picking up three wickets at a cost of just 31 runs.

Broughton and Kirby are runners-up. They quickly saw off the challenge from Ingleby Greenhow by seven wickets restricting their opponents to just 104 which included an unbeaten 51 by Brown. Smith claimed three for 33 and Briddock three for 29 before opening batsman Scott steered Broughton and Kirby to victory when he finished undefeated on 61.

Swainby are bottom and they claimed just six points from their 26 matches losing the last fixture against Crathorne by five wickets.

Howard Leng returned the excellent figures of five for 15 and Clemmitt had three for 22 as Swainby were restricted to 64. Despite facing a low target Crathorne conceded five wickets, five of them to Bedale for just 17 runs.

Scruton finished with a ten wickets victory at home to Hutton Rudby who they dismissed with only 67 runs on the board. Scruton won without conceding a wicket as Barker finished unbeaten on 50 to the total of 72 without loss.

Other games were affected by rain and after Stafford Place had made 119 all out their fixture with Chopgate was abandoned.

An interesting finish was in prospect in the game between Kildale and Maltby. When they made first use of the wicket Maltby ended with 121 for nine on top which included 30 by Francis, while for Kildale Dan Doughty returned five for 41.

Despite 41 by opening batsman Pearson, Kildale were 87 for the loss of six wickets when the rain arrived. Latif captured three of the wickets for just 20 runs.

East Harlsey reached 212 for six and Skelton Castle were 44 without loss when their game had to be abandoned. Mason with 74 and Hodgson with 72 top scored for East Harlsey and for Skelton Castle Stainthorpe was unbeaten on 29.
