LIVE gigs, street theatre, steel bands and interactive stalls will present an anti-drug message this weekend.

The aim of the seventh Drugs Awareness Day is to provide people with information about drugs while they enjoy a wide range of entertainment.

Co-ordinator Margaret Moore of Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council said: "It is a unique event and while the focus is on young people, the issues we address cut across all sections of the community.

"We hope everyone visiting the event will not only have a great day, but will go away with a better understanding of the drug and alcohol-related issues which affect us all."

The event runs from 10am to 3pm on Saturday in Redcar town centre.
