The newly formed competition which boasts 11 clubs is now finding its feet and at the weekend there were big wins for Trimdon and Gateshead Redheugh.

Trimdon visited Willington and won 5-1 with goals by Shaun Sproat (2), Gary Evans, Mark Costello and Jonathan Heslop. Christopher Hodgson was a scorer for Willington whose man of the match was Simon Ord while Gary Evans took the honour for Trimdon.

Redheugh inflicted a 7-1 defeat on Hartlepool after establishing a 3-1 interval advantage. Tony Thirkell netted a hat-trick and both Aidan Atkinson and Chris Wilkinson scored twice for the Reds.

Hartlepool's only goal came from Ian Davies. Wilson was judged man of the match for Redheugh and goalkeeper Daniel Dukes was named Hartlepool's top player.
