Thirsk and Sowerby Harriers: Six Harriers joined the other 40,000 or so in the Great North Run on Sunday on a warm, sunny day.

William Barker was the first of the group to finish, in 1h.31, Alan Harman and David Shorrocks both ran in 1h.39, the same time as Brendan Foster. Fiona Wilson took 1h.55, Ian Codling 1h.59 and Karen Hudson 2h.02. All were pleased with their times and hope to be back next year!

Meanwhile, at the other side of the country, about 30 Harriers and family members were on a social/training weekend in the Lake District. The weather was less than kind, and several of the activities took place in wet, cold conditions. Delicious food made the prospect seem brighter, and no doubt they too will be back next year!
