Annandale Hotel v Stakesby Arms: Acame from behind to beat Stakesby in what turned out to be a comfortable win.

However it was the Whitby side who raced into a 2 goal lead within the first ten minutes, Johnson in the Annandale goal having no chance with two well struck shots. This spurred Annandale into action, Bell replying immediatelt with a shot into te roof of the net. The home side piled on a lot of pressure but wasted a host of chances, Dewing and Barker letting a hatful of chances go begging. A tactical reshuffle in the 2nd half led to Dewing putting Annandale level and then putting them in front with a second from the edge of the box. Fountain bagged his first ever goal for the club, direct from a corner and Barker atoned for his earlier misses by forcing the ball home from close range to complete the 5-2 scoreline.

Gt Ayton v Grosmont

Gt Ayton took early control of the game as, unfortunately Grosmont were only able to field ten players. Ayton dominayed the early play with Ross Milburn striking a fierce shot, which Pearson in the Grosmont goal palmed against the bar for the first goal. The early pressure paid off when Ripley made a solo run down the left to square the ball for Hyde to score from six yards. Having the spare player allowed Hunton to play wide on the right creating numerous opportunities forthe Ayton forwards but they couldn't capitalise, shots were hit wide and the posts were hit on four occasions and Ripley had a well struck volley well saved by Pearson.

Ayton were fortunate to take the lead when a miss hit shot fell for Scott to loop the ball over the advancing Pearson. Grosmont had few chances in the first half, their beat effort came from a free kick which was well saved by Clements in the Ayton goal. Ayton opened the second half with Irvine making a solo run from central defence to find himself one on one with the Grosmont keeper who stood well to block the shot. Ayton then lost their way and conceded a penalty which was well converted by Duck. Grosmont then grew in confidence and pressurised the Ayton defence and with Raw starting to win the ball in midfield, Ayton were on the back foot and could only create opportunities on the break. Busby made a solo run to hit a good shot which came back off the post. The ten men from Grosmont put up a good show but couldn't find the equaliser.

Brotton WMC v Grangetown YCC

For the first five minutes the game was very slow then Grangetown took control. On 20 minutes the first of two off side decisions went the way of Grangetown the ball was passed to Kast who stopped to put the ball in the net with the referee playing on.

Grangetown still had a lot of the game but on 30 minutes it was Brotton's turn to get the luck when Scott was left free to score with the Grangetown defence claiming off side. Brotton began to apply the pressure in the second half. Two more goals from Scott seemed to have the game won for Brotton and they sat back on the lead. With 20 minute left the defence failed to clear from the edge of the box where some neat footwork from Dolan led to hime firing a shot into the bottom corner of the net to give Grangetown some hope. Brotton had the odd break but Grangetown pressurised in the hope of an equaliser but they were unable to find the net putting Brotton back on the winning trail.

Goldsborough v Black Swan

Black Swan began the game the better team and deserved to open the scoring after 15 minutes. Their domination continued for the next 10 minutes. Sanderson in the Goldsborough goal kkeping his side in the game. Goldsborough pulled a goal back when Mikey Dent rounded the keeper to pull his team level. As the home team piled on the pressure Stewart put them ahead giving Goldsborough the edge as the Black Swan's heads dropped. Andy Dent scored in the 35th minute when, marked by three defenders, he turned well and drove the ball into the corner of the net. Goldsborough increased their lead before the first half interval with goals from both Mikey and Andy Dent. Ten minutes into the second half Black Swan pulled a goal back when Andy Dent completed his hat trick in the 60th minute the game was beyond their reach.

Highland Laddie v Staithes

The game was played at a frenetic pace from the first whistle. Laddie opened the scoring in the 20th minute as Lowther raced clear to slot home. Staihes pressed hard, both Gibson and Bowes going close but Laddie went further ahead with Burns netting from 15 yards after help from Kandel and Lowther. A 40th minute corner led to Staithes pulling a goal back with a bullet header from Scollett. The 2nd half was an even affair, Mitchell went close for Laddie and Bowes missing from close range for Staithes. A through ball from Ward saw Bowes make up for his miss as he raced clear to equalise. Laddie responded immediately with a well taken goal from Daynes. Smith replaced Bowes for Staithes and with only minutes left he was on hand to lob the Laddie kkeeper and end the game with honours even.

Lingdale Utd v Boosbeck Utd

Lingdale United's record as the only unbeaten team remains, but only just. Lingdale began the game strongly coming close on 10 minutes, Sleeman took a free kick which found the head of Hololob who headed onto the bar. Boosbeck then began to take control and opened the scoring on 20 minutes when Winter found Johnson who scored from close range. Minutes later Winter almost made it 2-0 with a snap shot that went narrowly wide. Boosbeck began the 2nd half looking for more goals and after 15 minutes Johnson netted his second with a powerful header, giving th Lingdale keeper no chance Boosbeck sat back and invited Lingdale to attack. Boosbeck defended well with Dobson outstanding but after Lingdale made three changes the game began to swing in their favour.

A clever cross from Sayer found Hololob who back headed a great goal. Boosbeck were noe defending in and around the penalty area. On 80 minutes a mix up in the Boosbeck defence let in Hololob who passed to Iseton to level the score. This derby match was a credit to the league, both teams playing with great passion and honesty.

Loftus Ath v Lingdale Tavern

It was Lingdale who took the lead after 15 minutes when Ward picked up the ball on the edge of the box to shoot past Barritt in the Loftus goal. Tavern took control of the middle and Darcy was unlucky, hitting the cross bar twice in two minutes. Loftus got physical leading to two players being cautioned and fell further behind when Ward scored his second after Ball had played him through. Then on half time he ccompleted his hat trick when good work from Calvert set him up. In a bruising secong half Tavern lost Darcy and Breckon through injuries and Loftus pulled a goal back through Wilson. Tavern found themselves down to ten men with a player was sent off for a second yellow card offence.

Loftus capitalised when substitute Hall found the top corner from the edge of the box. Loftus then had a player dismissed and Lingdale clinched the points from the resulting penalty which Thompson converted well.

Redcar Mackinlay Park v Lealholm

Lealholm took control of the midfield early in the game, Welham being the main instigater in their attacking moves. Redcar tried to break down the Lealholm defence but they held on well as a unit and then got their deserved goal ten minutes before half time when Crooks played a clever back heal for Harlap to shoot, Magar tried to clear but knocked the ball into his own net Mackinlay Park started the second half in bettter form and had soon equalised through Ayres. Lealholm then Got back into the game and pushed mackinlay Park back Crooks put Lealholm ahead and Lealholm were then well on top, a third goal came from Brown after a break down the left left him unmarked, giving Lealholm a deserved win.
