BURGLARS broke into a house in Heighington, near Darlington, but fled empty-handed.
Thursday's attempted raid followed two other daytime burglaries in Heighington and Redworth, when watches, cameras and alcohol were taken.
A man was disturbed breaking into a property in Straight Lane, Hurworth, early yesterday.
He was described as 5ft 6in and was said to be wearing a dark top with a grey hood.
Anyone with information about any of the break-ins is asked to telephone police on (01325) 467681.
