MORE than 1,000 businesses have been helped with legal or bureaucratic problems by a team of experts in Yorkshire.
Problems with new employment legislation, business taxation and environmental issues are among those which have been dealt with by the Red Tape Team.
The mobile unit has completed 60 roadshows and the team has also sent a mailshot to 2,000 businesses.
The chief executive of Yorkshire Chambers of Commerce, Martin Hathaway, said: "Red tape is a threat to business progress in a highly-competitive commercial environment because it creates additional costs, takes up management time, strangles initiative and hampers job creation.
"We are delighted to have broken through the 1,000 barrier in the number of businesses we have helped."
