A CELLIST added a musical touch to the launch of a festival in Middlesbrough yesterday.

Imogen Busby, 21, is taking part in the Chimera project as part of the audio visual AV Fest, which is partly organised by the University of Teesside.

She will help make a film about Teesside to be shown on BBC2 next month.

The film will feature material from digital cameras, video, animators and musicians all spliced together to create a modern collage of moving pictures.

This is the first AV Fest to take place in the North-East and involves a collaborative effort from the university along with councils and cinemas around the region.

Between November 8 and 22, films and moving images will be shown at various locations, including Middlesbrough, Newcastle and Sunderland.

Carol Cook, of the University of Teesside, said: "This is very, very positive and we are all working together to make it a special festival.

"It has never been done before and we think it is going to be a real winner."
