Bedale - President's Putter: The golfing season is now drawing to a close in this glorious autumn weather and with only the Turkey Trot as the last major competition still to be played no more trophies are to be played for this year after that.

Richard Lee was the outright winner of the President's Putter this year with a nett 67 and his prize will be presented on December 6 together with other prize winners over the year. The best gross prize was won with a 76 by Ian Smith.

Leading scores: Division One: 67 Richard Lee (9), 70 Darren Brown (11), 71 Ian Smith (5).

Division Two: 68 Tony Phillips (17), 69 Ivan Savage (14), 71 Craig Harrison (16), Marco Cucurrollo (21), 71 Adrian Firth-Corner (22).

Forbes Trophy

A pairs competition for a trophy presented by the late David Forbes and his wife to mark Joan's captaincy in 1977.

Leading scores: 49 points Bill Blaydon and Mike Greenwood, 45 Alistair and Maggie Ritchie also Chris and Liz Stubbs. Card countback required.

Seniors

A four-ball ball for the elderly gentlemen this week with the following leading scores: 59 Brian Knapton (12) and George Wood (21), 61 Roger Hole (16) and Jim Brunskill (21), 74 Bill Coom (19) and Jeff Hulse (23).

Dales Alliance

A home fixture was not enough for Bedale to manage a top finish as they could only come second to an impressive performance by Blackwell Grange who not only took the top position but moved themselves up from fourth to second place in the overall placings. Scores on the day: 201 points Blackwell Grange, 194 Bedale, 191 Crook, 185 Catterick and Thirsk and Northallerton, 249 Richmond.

Prize-winners were shared between Bedale and Blackwell Grange as follows: 43 points I Smith and P Kirbitson (Bedale) also R Severs and K Griffiths (Blackwell Grange), 42 S Whitwham and C Harrison (Bedale) also p Thraves and J Matthews (Blackwell Grange).

Overall position after the round: 1945 points Crook, 1891 Blackwell Grange, 1878 Catterick, 1876 Bedale, 1849 Richmond, 1835 Thirsk and Northallerton.

It remains to be seen if Blackwell Grange can keep up this challenge for the remaining rounds of the year.
