With the Bishop Auckland Heart Foundation Cup taking place and a lack of available referees on Sunday the league saw a dramatic reduction in the number of fixtures taking place.

Two sides progressed to next round of the cup competition, as holders Newton Aycliffe Sports Club beat West Auckland Social Club and East End WMC defeated Coundon WMC.

In the first divison only two games took place with Shuttle and Loom travelling to the Killinghall Arms and coming away with all three points after a 3-2 victory, Kevin Ashton and Philip Reynolds scoring for the home side but a hat-trick from man of the match Stuart Curry saw the Shuttle secure the points.

In the division's only other game Hurworth took the lead in the first half against Brinkburn Wanderers through Jonathan Bell, after the break the Wanderers took the game to the home side but could not break down their defence to force an equaliser, and when Chris Liddle scored Hurworths' second from close range, the three points stayed with the home side with a 2-0 scoreline.

New League leaders in the second division are Pepper Draughting Services who took advantage of Cleveland Bridge being without a game, to go three points clear. PDS ran out 12-0 winners against the Hole in The Wall, with hat-tricks for Gary Barnes, Lee Hammond and man of the match Michael Carter, two for Mark Stephenson and one for Mark Finn.

Copper Beech slipped to another defeat after going down to Peacocks Pub Co.. The visitors led 3-0 at half time with goals from Mark Armstrong and two from Michael Weston and with Joe Jackson added a fourth in the second half the visitors controlled the game from start to finish.

In the divison's other game Berlins played hosts to Middleton St. George where the visitors ran out 5-1 winners.

In Division Three Axa played hosts to St Augustines in a game which on paper looked to be evenly balanced. However the home side were as poor as the visitors were impressive in a one-sided affair. St Augustines took the lead early on when Andrew Cairns was allowed to nod home unchallenged. The lead was extended midway through the first half through a Stephen Piper effort. On the stroke of half time Damien Wynne won the ball in a challenge with the AXA full back, played the ball into the box and followed in to take advantage of some poor defending to make it 3-0 at the break.

Despite an attempt to spur themselves into action through a half time teamtalk and a double substitution Axa were little better in the second half. The excellent Piper made it four shortly after the break and then Cairns added his second when again given time and space in the penalty area he volleyed home following a corner. On this performance St. Augustines look like being involved in the promotion race, but AXA must improve quickly to avoid another midtable finish.

Goodfellas took on high flying MN All Stars and came away with a 5-1 victory. A Phil Cornforth hat-trick in the first 45 minutes put the Goodfellas in the driving seat, after the break All Stars improved on their first half showing and Danny McMaster reduced the arrears, but they were left to rue missed chances and they were unfortunate to find Gary Riseborough in the visitors goal in excellent form. When Cornforth added his fourth, the game was in the control of the visitors and a late strike from Dean Pearson secured a well deserved three points for the Goodfellas.

Falchion continued their push towards the top with a 3-2 victory at bottom of table Sherwoods. Fighting Cocks had earned a 2-1 win against Haughton, while AFC Aruba and the Cricketers shared the points in a 2-2 draw.

Royal Oak's match at Bishop Auckland Newton Cap was postponed.
