JOHN Brackstone is in line for his first League start tomorrow night.

The Hartlepool-born left-back will start at Chesterfield as Hartlepool bid to put aside Saturday's horror show at Blackpool.

Brackstone was, according to boss Neale Cooper, the sole bright spot to emerge from the game and now he is likely to join his elder brother, York City midfielder Stephen, in the Football League ranks.

Mark Robinson started his fifth game in a row after being out of the first-team picutre all season.

But he was hauled off at the break after an ineffective display and Cooper admitted: "His performance wasn't good enough.

"You get an opportunity to come back into the team and you have to be professional and take it. He didn't seem to be up for it, but not only Mark Robinson there were a few other players like that.

"For me there was only Brackstone and Westy in the second-half who can come out of that with any credit.

"The rest? Not good enough. Jim made a couple of good saves actually, he couldn't do much with the goals.''

Cooper put Greek goalkeeper Dimitrios Konstantopoulos on the bench as cover for Provett, with former No 1 Anthony Williams remaining behind.

Williams was in line for a loan move to Kidderminster last week only for the Harriers' chairman to pull the plug on the deal on Thursday night. Chances of the deal being resurrected this week look slim after manager Ian Britton was sacked yesterday.

Cooper admitted: "There's been talk of him going out somewhere, that's why I left him out of the squad.

"One or two clubs have been linked, but I haven't heard anything from Swansea.

"On Friday he could still have gone out somewhere, but I had to pick a squad for the Blackpool game.''

Eifion Williams didn't travel on Saturday. He had recovered from a hip injury, but was ill on Friday night with sickness.
