Division One, Carlin How 3, SMG Redstripes 1: The home side took the lead when Martin Say's volley into the six yard box found Frank Moran who slotted the ball in.

The visitors were back on level terms when Anthony Photopoulos scored.

Tyreman pulled off two good saves to keep his team level. The home side took the lead for the second time when Jacob Hart struck a super 30-yard free-kick. The match swung end to end until Martin Say beat a couple of defenders and fired at the SMG goal. Wilson, who had played well throughout the match, allowed the ball to slip under his arms.

BEADS FC 2, Grangetown BC 3

In an entertaining game the Boys Club took a fifth minute lead when an error by BEADS stand in keeper Barney Malone allowed Mark Ward to open the scoring. The home side fought back and equalised ten minutes later when a cross from Paul Newham saw Ian Swinnerton score from close range to make it 1-1.

The Boys Club regained the lead when Ward struck a fierce shot but the home side fought back and were on level terms when Newham fired home. The hosts were made to pay for poor finishing when Ward completed his hat-trick.

Fishburn Park 2, Stokesley SC 0

Fishburn Park took the lead through Duncan Marson. Stokesley fought back but they failed to get back into the match and in the last minute a Fishburn corner was only half cleared to Neil Braithwaite, who fired home.

New Marske SC 2, Wolviston Res 3

New Marske Sports Club had a great start to the match against Wolviston Reserves when Mark Thornton scored. Wolviston replied through Craig Leslie and took a 2-1 lead into the half time when Glen Walker scored. In the second half the home side pressed forward and drew level through a Chris Ellis strike, but Wolviston took the lead again through Andrew Dinsdale. Despite having James Wilson sent off in the 75th minute for violent conduct, they hung on to secure the three points.

Nunthorpe Ath 0, Bedale FC 1

Bedale keeper Mark Williams was the hero for the visitors with a string of fine saves after Nigel Binks had given them a 15th minute lead. Williams saved all that was thrown at him to secure three important points.

Thornaby FC 0, Mackinlay Park 0

Thornaby's lead at the top was cut to two points when they were held to a 0-0 draw. Both keepers Nick Bates and Paul Jewitt made fine stops.

Thornaby YC 5, Richmond Town 0

Thornaby Youth Club move up into second place in the first division after a demolition of Richmond Town. Daren Fixter opened the scoring and then he added his second. On the hour Gareth Waite headed home from a corner to make it three. David Burton and substitute Mac Allen rounded things off.

Division Two

Darlington Alb 5, Darlington SRM 4

Darlington Albion found themselves 3-0 behind at half time when John Myers and two from Steve Rodgers put the Mills on their way. A spirited fight back by the Albion resulted in Gary Mitchell and Adrian Weston pulling it back to 3-2. But the SRM made it 4-2 when Myers scored his second. The Albion struck back through Mitchell and then John Banks made it all square. Then Mitchell completed his hat trick to complete a remarkable fight back for the Albion.

Darlington RA R 5, Whinney Banks 2

Darlington RA Reserves raced into a 3-0 lead. Carl Moss gave the home side a fourth minute lead. Darren Kokes doubled the lead and Stephen Walker made it three after ten minutes. David Gove pulled one back but Moss scored his second to make it 4-1. In the second half Kokes made it five before Gove pulled it back to 5-2.

Dormans FC 4, Richmond Mvrks 1

Dormans took an early through Robert Boden and on the hour he scored again. Glynn Swinnerton and James McGowan made it four before Wayne Gredziak scored a late reply.

Guisb Town Res 1, Teesside Ath 2

The visitors keeper kept his side on level terms with a number of good saves, but right on the stroke of half time Teesside Athletic broke clear and Michael Goodhall made it 1-0. In the second half the home side pressed forward again but in the 56th minute a great strike from Mark Upton gave Teesside Athletic a 2-0 lead, the home side still pressed forward and were finally rewarded when good build up play from Tom Burke resulted in Steven Cardwell scoring.

North Ormesby 2, Billingham W 3

North Ormesby are fining it tough going in their first season in senior football, but despite going behind by two goals inside fifteen minute they fought back. John Cairns and Lee Mitchell scored with headers before North Ormesby pulled it back to 2-1 just before half time through Craig Bell. In the second half the match was very evenly balanced until the 80th minute when Adrian Serrechia gave the visitors a 3-1 lead. North Ormesby fought back and pulled it back to 3-2 in the 88th minute through Wesley Burton.

Washington Aged Peoples Trophy

Brandon Pr. Bish. 1, H'pool FC 2 (aet)

Hartlepool progressed to the next round of this prestigious Cup and a home match with local rivals Hartlepool Town. Hartlepool took a tenth minute lead when a Neil Hay shot was knocked away by the home team's keeper, but Dave Clark was on hand to bundle the loose ball home. Visitors keeper Stephen Jewson was in fine form but he could do little about Graham Stubbs's equaliser. But nine minutes later a cross from the left found 16-year-old Michael Harrison, who slotted home the golden goal winner.

North Riding Challenge Cup

Teesside Link 3, Lingdale Tavern 1

Teesside Link earned a place in the thirrd round draw after beating Lingdale Tavern. In a tight first half Teesside Link took a slender lead into the half time break when Robbie Shaw scored. In the second half Link took a 2-0 lead through Steve Hill and Shaw added his second of the match before Gary Hood scored what turned out to be a late consolation.
