A 15-year-old girl was taken to hospital after a hit-and-run accident near York.
The accident happened at 10am on Saturday, when she was knocked off her bike on West End, in Strensall, outside the Robert Wilkinson Primary School.
The car involved was a silver Mercedes saloon, possibly a C class, with a dent in the passenger door. It failed to stop after the accident and made off in the direction of Haxby.
The girl was taken to hospital where she was given stitches in her nose, mouth and hand.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the accident, or anyone who recognises the car to contact PC 101 Brian Sinclair at York Police Station on (01904) 631321.
