Ferryhill Town Youth: THE Under-10s played away to Stockton Town Athletic, winning 5-0.

In the opening minutes Tom Olley took a corner and Reece Wooley scored the first goal by heading the ball into the back of the net. David Gibson struck an excellent ball lobbing it over the top of goalkeeper. Matthew Harker was very unlucky with a good few shots but before half time found the net giving a 3-0 lead to Ferryhill. Nathan Ball scored a fourth shortly after the second half kicked-off. The last goal came from David Gibson, giving him his second of the match. Good team work from all players contributed to an excellent result. David Gibson was awarded man of the match.

Ferryhill Town Under-11s were at home to league leaders Mount Pleasant Rangers at the weekend. In a hard fought first half Ferryhill created a few good chances and scored twice, a penalty from Michael Briggs and an excellent goal from the 18 yard box, but Mount Pleasant through some great defending denied Ferryhill anymore and in the second half took control of the game, winning 9-2. Man of the match went to Craig McCormack, he was unlucky not to find the back of the net but kept trying.

The Under-12s were away to Belasis Juniors, Ferryhill had a 2-1 lead at half time with goals from Craig Stanworth and a superbly taken free kick by Jack Harrison. Ferryhill worked very hard in the second half and were rewarded with a third goal which was scored by Jordan Fannan. This was an excellent all-round effort by the Ferryhill team and it would be unfair to single out one player for the man of the match award. Final score Belasis Juniors 1, Ferryhill 3.

Ferryhill Under-13s were away to Newton Aycliffe at the weekend and in a great all round team performance defeated Aycliffe 10-3. There was a double hat-trick for man of the match Jonathan Smith, a hat-trick for Shane Todd and one for goalkeeper Christopher Bradwell.

The Under-14s were at home to Coulby Newham at the weekend and went 1-0 down just after the kick-off. Wayne Bolton scored to level the score, but Coulby Newham scored their second just before the half time whistle to give them a 2-1 lead at half time. The second half saw Ferryhill play better football and Craig Lonsdale put Ferryhill level once again. Adam Slater then scored a great goal to put Ferryhill into a 3-2 lead before then Ryan Wilkinson got a fourth. Coulby Newham were awarded a corner, Wayne Bolton came from up front to defend for the corner and picked up the ball just inside his own 18 yard box to run the full length of the field to score an excellent goal that any Premiership player would have been proud of. It was an enjoyable game to watch and great effort by both teams. Final score was Ferryhill 5, Coulby Newham 2.

Willington Boys

Willington Under-15s and Under-11s both won through to the quarter finals of their respective Russell Foster Junior league cup competitions with decisive third round victories on Sunday.

The Under-15s defeated St. Josephs 7-1 with goals from Harry Drummond (2, 1 pen), Mick Elliott (2), Adam Nicholls, Ryan Young and Michael Stothard. Joe Fairish was man of the match.

Jordan Roberts and man of the match Alex Hird both scored hat-tricks for Willington Under-11s in their 7-3 league cup win at home to Quinceys. Craig Elliott was the other Willington scorer.

Willington Under-17s won 5-2 away to Whickham Fellside in the league. Martin Hopps (2), Steve Danby (2), and Leon Howe got the goals, with Daniel Lee and mark Bowey joint man of the match.

Bishop Auckland Barrington Wanderers

Barrington Wanderers fought for another three points at home against Horden Athletic, coming out 3-0 winners. The team played some good passing football and defensively made no mistakes to keep a clean sheet.

The referee commented on the excellent attitude of both sets of players. Joint top scorer, Paul Brunskill scored another two with David Spence getting the other. The man of the match was named as defender Arran Sowerby.

Bishop Auckland College

OSunday the College had an early kick off at Cleadon Jnrs in the league Cup and the lads were playing some good football until Cleadon won a corner from which they scored a good goal.

Bishop got straight back into the game then just before half time a clearance by Dale Fell on the volley to a Cleadon striker who scored a good goal.

The second half saw the College getting stuck in again and had a few chances but it just wasn't their day, the final score being 3-0.

Next week Bishop are at home to Sunderland Spartans, kick-off 1.30pm, players to meet at the College at 12.45pm.

Darlington Allstars

The Under-10s were hosts to Billingham Town and fought hard to keep control and the points. Bradley Simpson scored the opening goal for the Allstars after just ten seconds but Billingham proved to be a well organised team and the Allstars had to work hard and pulled off some fantastic passing and some tremendous midfield work to keep the lead. This was a well deserved 1-0 win for the team and a good all round team performance. Callum Roddy was man of the match.

In the friendly, the Under-10s won 3-0 with goals from Michael Sweet, William Whittaker and Ryan McDonald with man of the match to Bradley Simpson.

The Under-11s took on the Spraire Lads and came away with a terrific 4-1 win. The Allstars settled well and controlled the game. Luke Thompson scored a hat-trick and Jack Whittaker made it certain with a fourth goal. A good organised performance from the Allstars. Robbie Chambers was man of the match.

The Under-11 Colts were away to Hartlepool and went 2-0 up early in the game. Hartlepool came back strongly and brought the score level at 2-2 but the Colts worked hard and went on to a well deserved 4-2 win and yet another good all round team performance. Scorers were Thomas Airey (2), Danny Burn and Tom Gillan with Jordan Hanratty man of the match.

The Under-12s were hosts to a well organised Nunthorpe Athletic team and were trailing 2-0 early in the game. The Allstars found it hard to get back into the game, but they kept their heads up and gave their all. Final score was 5-0 with Jack Johns named man of the match.

The Under-13s were away to Lingdale in the league and struggled to field 11 players. The Allstars gave 100 per cent and never gave up, but Lingdale proved to be a strong organised side, winning 8-2. Allstars scorers were man of the match Michael Lakey and Morgan Edwards.

The Under-13 Colts were away to Seaton Carew in the league. The Allstars worked hard and took the lead, but Seaton Carew equalised and then took the lead. Seaton Carew took their chances well and scored two more goals. The Allstars scored again through Lewis Oliver, but luck was not on their side and Seaton Carew took the points, 4-2. Liam Clarke and Lewis Oliver scored with Tarren Jackson man of the match.

The Under-16s travelled to Eaglescliffe for a hard, physical league fixture. Luke Raine worked hard in defence and was awarded man of the match for his efforts. After some dubious decisions and without the luck of the game, the Allstars were defeated 2-1. Dale Thomas was man of the match.

Darlington 21st Allstars U12 Colts lost 4-0 at home to Trimdon United.

Darlington RA

The RA travelled to Northallerton in a return fixture of two weeks ago which the RA won 5-2.

The RA started well quickly, going into a 2-0 lead with David James scoring both goals. James had a free header to complete his hat-trick but missed and from the long clearance Northallerton pulled a goal back. Jack Ridley regained the RA's two-goal lead to end the first-half scoring, the R.A. looking comfortable at 3-1 up.

The second half was a totally different game with Northallerton using a long ball to their advantage, scoring freely and often, this upset the RA's defence and midfield, the final score of 6-3 to Northallerton did not do the RA justice as they had played the better football. Man of the match was Kiel Mellor.

Darlington Albion

The Albion Under-10s played two home games against Thirsk on Sunday, winning both. In game one Albion won 1-0 with J Scarr scoring and Albion won the second game 2-0 with B. Ward getting both goals.

Thirsk Falcons

THE Under-12s were away to Dales Diamonds for the second successive week and the hosts were on the attack from the kick off.

They won a corner but the shot was saved by Thirsk's keeper but the Diamonds kept the pressure on and it resulted in a goal.

Then it went from end to end as Diamonds won another corner which resulted in their second goal to put Diamonds 2-0 up.

Diamonds were having most of the play although Joe Barwick had a couple of shots but put them wide. Diamonds pressed again but Thirsk got the ball to David Mosley and with a low shot across goal he found the bottom corner of the net.

Diamonds attacked again and had a shot but Thirsk keeper Sam Robinson made a great save meaning the score was 2-1 to Diamonds at half time.

The second half saw Diamonds again enjoy more possession but Thirsk kept going started to win more of the ball in midfield although they did give away a free kick just outside the area and after a fine save and a goalmouth scramble Thirsk cleared the ball.

Play then went from end to end with Thirsk's David Mosley having a shot which was saved before Diamonds put it over the bar. Thirsk attack and Diamonds cleared as far as Thirsk's Luke Williams who, with a high lob, equalised.

Diamonds attacked again but Thirsk, with some good overlap play between Sean Taylorson and David Mosley down the right, countered but before David Mosley could whip in the cross the ref blew for full time.

Manager Ian Barwick said: "This was a get out of jail card for Thirsk as, after beating Diamonds last week, our players expected an easy game but it was Diamonds that had the will to win."

Man of the match was Liam Cook.

Bishop Auckland Schools FA

The Under-13s drew 2-2 with Stockton and defeated East Durham 5-1 while the Under-14s drew 3-3 with Stockton and defeated East Durham 7-2.

The Under-15s have successfully built on previous seasons success by progressing to the fourth round of the English Schools FA Trophy (the FA Cup for schoolboys) by overcoming Middlesbrough in the first round 4-2. In the second round they won 7-1 at Scarborough and in the third round won 3-1 away to Barnsley Boys.

This leave them awaiting a fourth round draw to be played by December 6. They are now in the last 32 out of approximately 180 entries.
