A teenage girl has been killed in a road smash on Teesside.
Eighteen year old Ashley Reed from Stockton was a pillion passenger on a Yamaha 600cc which collided with a BMW car on the A1027 Norton Ring Road at its junction with the Glebe estate, Stockton.
It is believed that the bike was travelling towards the Junction Road roundabout when the crash occurred.
The rider of the motorbike, who has not been named, was taken to hospital with abdominal injuries. The occupants of the car were uninjured, but the ring road was closed for several hours following Thursday evening's accident.
