Norton Under-12 Girls once again produced a very good performance playing good quality football against Consett.

Norton passed the ball well with excellent link up play from the midfield and the forwards. Defensively Norton were strong with good performances from Leanne Mulligan and Olivier Moody. The main stay of the team performance was from Kate McGuire who controlled the midfield impressively, winning the ball and distributing it to the wings and the forward. With such good supply Olivier Inman showed what a quality finisher of the ball she is. Further goals came from Sarah Proctor who also delivered quality passes throughout the game. Consett had few chances but the chances they had were put away impressively and although Norton dominated Consett worked hard. On the whole, a pleasing performance from a young team who has only lost two games so far this season.

Norton Under-13 Girls got off to a slow start against Blythe conceding an early goal, and then moved up a gear putting some efforts on goal. With a build up of pressure Norton got an equalizer through Emily Wilson , then with a lapse of concentration gave Blythe a goal scoring opportunity which they took making it 2-1 to Blythe at half time. The game became increasingly physical both teams trying to establish superiority, A penalty was given to Norton for a push inside the box, up stepped Philippa Thomas 2-2. The girls on both sides fought equally hard making things very tense, then a scuffle in the Norton goal area and Blythe were 3-2 up and no time to respond. Norton did well with only seven players each one giving 100 per cent effort and determination.
