Durham City Ladies FC were too strong for a young Horden CW team and came out 8-0 winners after a fine performance.

City got the best of starts when Charlotte Rimmer was brought down on the edge of the box in the first minute. The referree awarded a penalty and captain Claire Turner fired home. Horden, who play in the second division of the Women's Northern League put up a spirited performance for the rest of the first half. However City top scorer Emma Collinson made it 2-0 just before half time.

Durham's extra class showed in the second half as Horden tired. Collinson completed her hat-trick early in the half. Julie Campbell fired home a Tracey Symons free kick and the impressive Vicky Moore scored with a well struck right footed effort.

There was still time at the end for substitute Vicky Collier to come on and grab two well taken goals as Durham progressed through to the next round of the cup.
